Transforming Supply Chain Sustainability through Ethical Sourcing

The United Nations Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative and consists of several local networks. The UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka will host a Webinar titled “Transforming Supply Chain Sustainability through Ethical Sourcing” on the 29th of April, 4.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m (IST) via Zoom.
Session objectives of this webinar are to bring together UNGC Networks, business leaders, and technical experts for joint learning, information sharing and to explore potential areas for further collaboration thus improving transparency in order to ensure suppliers are using ethical sourcing. Furthermore, this webinar will provide an overview on why transparency on sustainability practices of a supply chain is imperative. It will also explore key challenges and opportunities when introducing ethical sourcing practices. In addition, the webinar will help create an understanding of the role technology can play in improving transparency, and make companies aware of their level of transparency and best practices in implementation.
“Transforming Supply Chain Sustainability through Ethical Sourcing” will feature Mr. Matt Kovac, Executive Director - Food Industry Asia (FIA) Singapore, Ms. Helena Orella Salinas, Sustainable Development Manager - Bolton Food (Spain) and Ms. Sonali Peiris, Head of Sustainability, Enterprise Risk Management & Group Initiatives - John Keells Holdings. The Keynote address to be delivered by Mr. Dilhan C. Fernando, CEO – Dilmah and Chairman - UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka. This session will be moderated by Ms. Thamindri De Silva, General Manager MJF Charitable Foundation and Steering Committee Member - UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka.
