Small Entrepreneur Programme
Established as part of a greater poverty alleviation programme which began in the aftermath of the 2004 Tsunami, the Small Entrepreneur Programme (SEP) supports underprivileged entrepreneurs who show promise to launch a vocational-based business or to improve their existing business.

The Prison Reform and Integrate Programme strives to re-build the lives of individuals released on parole from correctional facilities by helping them lead a confident, productive and respected existence in their communities.

Born from the Small Entrepreneur Progamme (SEP), the Local Heroes concept strives to empower impoverished and less-privileged communities by enabling capable individuals and using their success to benefit a wider community.
Enabling the Differently-abled
In an effort to embrace, celebrate and enable the differently-abled and gifted, the MJF Charitable Foundation has implemented extensive programmes to provide better care and assistance to these marginalized, and often misunderstood, individuals.
Following the vision of Dilmah Settlor Merrill J Fernando, the MJF Charitable Foundation has committed to uplift and support women from underprivileged and impoverished communities. The programme offers such women the chance to overcome poverty by embarking on a livelihood of their own.
Empowering the North of Sri Lanka
We have implemented various programmes in the North of the Island to empower and aid communities affected by a 30-year long war. These projects focus, primarily, on battling the adverse socio-economic conditions faced by the residents of the Northern Peninsula.
MJF Kids programme
Founded in 2006, The MJF Kids programme provides underprivileged and disadvantaged children with education, life-skills and exposure to progressive alternatives that will help them advance in their studies while achieving a better quality of life for themselves and their families.
The MJF Charitable Foundation provides welfare and care for marginalised communities throughout the country. We address health, hygiene, nutrition, poverty and livelihood concerns faced by these communities in order to improve their everyday lives and those of the generations to come.
