Launch of the new Cashew Processing Centre in the East
Dilmah’s MJF Foundation has impacted thousands of lives over the last 24 years.
In 2010, we distributed 1 million cashew plants as a greening initiative with Dilmah Conservation in one of Sri Lanka’s most poverty-stricken areas-Batticaloa in the East. Through this initiative we benefited nearly 20,000 families with an additional income generating source in the long term.
As we celebrate our Settlor and Dilmah Founder's 72nd anniversary in tea and 92nd birthday, we have created greater employment opportunities for women by launching the new cashew processing center and facilitate fresh business opportunities for cashew farmers in the area.
The new centre will bring great hope to communities in challenging times towards a secure livelihood and introduce them to new markets for a better price for their hard-earned cashew harvest.
Is there a better way to wish our Founder a very happy birthday?
