Fr. Jude, the Parish Priest of St. Anne’s Wattala, has been recognised by his congregation and the wider community for his dedication to his mission of faith and also uplifting the lives of the less fortunate in the community. Amongst the projects undertaken by Fr. Jude is a collaborative effort with a parish from Austria to provide housing for poor people. Through this initiative 80 housing units have been completed. He has also begun a program for expectant mothers from lower income levels in order to improve infant mortality in the area.

Fr. Jude together with the MJF Charitable Foundation commenced an initiative to distribute milk powder to children of low income families and conduct classes for young children.
