Bounce Back Sri Lanka

The most compelling need of Sri Lankans affected by the tsunami tragedy is to return to work, and in doing so begin the process of returning to normalcy. The MJF Charitable Foundation and other agencies are working towards this objective via assistance to the fisher community. The other sector that was battered with equal ferocity by the tsunami was Sri Lanka's leisure industry.
After 20 years of struggling through a period of armed conflict and its devastating impact on tourism, the leisure sector began its turnaround in 2003, but took a terrible blow on 26th December 2004. Most of the tourists who visit Sri Lanka come for its beaches and these were devastated.
Sri Lanka Tourism is partnering with Travel Agencies around the world to bring tourists back to Sri Lanka and help restore the livelihoods of the thousands employed in this sector. Some tourists are visiting to help rebuild our country, whilst others to enjoy our beaches. Either way, visiting Sri Lanka can help boost our ability to rebuild. The Sri Lanka Tourism site features updates on tourist arrivals, tour options and a host of information about Sri Lanka.
