Puppetry workshop for MJF Kids at the MJF Centre Moratuwa

On the initiative of Rehana, the Centre Manager, the MJF Kids and the Kids from Diri Daru Piyasa were exposed to a novel experience last Saturday, the 2nd of September, when the Centre commenced its first Puppetry workshop.

This interactive puppetry workshop which was conducted by Ms Sulochana Dissanayake opened then up to a new world of different experiences and knowledge. Using hand puppets, she related the programme with African animals and enlighten them about their habitat, their food, their movements etc. Through this workshop the children were also exposed to good values and habit, about friendship and loyalty.

The Kids were also provided opportunities to try out the puppets themselves, which, for all of them was a first time experience and they really cherished handling the puppets.

The aim of this workshop is to build confidence, public speaking and effective communication skills amongst the Children and the workshops will be held on every 1st Saturdays of the month from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
