The 2nd meeting with the Parents of the MJF Kids programme with the MJFCF team was held on 2nd June at the MJF Centre in Moratuwa. 57 parents, mostly mothers (only 2 fathers) attended the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to briefly review the progress of the Kids and also to re emphasize the new way forward of the Kids programme, which will focus towards a holistic development approach to the kids.
Whilst the programme provides greater opportunities for extra curricular activities such art, craft and drama, music and dance, scouting and guiding, IT, carpentry and eco friendly agriculture and home gardening, caring for the environment and nature, the programme will also support the Kids in 3 main school curricula subjects – namely Maths, English and Science. Through this approach the programme will provide greater opportunities for the weaker kids as well to harness their in born talents and further develop them so that even the kids who are not so good in their studies alone will also have other options to pursue in the future and through which they all contribute meaningfully to their families and the society.
The parents were also requested to play a closer role in the progress of the kids and were welcomed at any time to the Centre to discuss any issues pertaining to their kids with the MJFCF team.
