The much looked forward event in the MJF Kids calendar – “Prasanga Prasansa” (Showing of their gratitude to all those responsible for what they achieved during the year) was held on Saturday 10th December. Prasanga Prasansa 2011 was the 5th consecutive event since the commencement of the Kids programme and was held for the 1st time at the MJF Centre in Moratuwa. This year’s event was even more significant as the MJF Kids of Peliyagoda and Maligawatte Centre were joined by their friends from the Pallansena and Moratuwa Centres as well their differently able peers from Diri Daru Piyasa.
Founder and Settlor of the MJF Foundation Mr. Merrill J. Fernando who was Chief Guest at the event was joined by the all the Directors of the MJF Group and also the Trustees of the Foundation and sons Malik and Dilhan and their families. Staff of the MJF group and parents of the Kids were also present at the event. The entire evening was well organized and presented by the Kids themselves with the Kids Kandyan dance troupe welcoming the Chief guests and the other guests followed by the Kids theme song.

Amongst the many performances by the Kids from the 3 Centres, the skit on “United Sri Lanka”, the drumming performance, the dance by the Kids from Diri Daru Piyasa, the Hawaiian dance, the life story of Udayachandran, the skit on “Friendship” and the carols by the Kids choir demonstrated the immense talents of these Kids and there was never a dull moment for the appreciative audience during the 3 hour programme.
The compliments and appreciations expressed by the invitees proved beyond doubts that the MJF Kids have really blossomed over the years through their involvement with the MJF Kids programme.
Kids who excelled in the various activities such and art, music, dancing and drumming, speech, poetry, compering and writing, general knowledge and drama, painting and sewing and those who performed with excellence during the year were awarded certificates during the programme.
The programme also made it a point to recognize the teachers – both Volunteers from within the MJF Group and those from external sources, for their commitment and dedication in grooming the Kids to where they are today. The awards were presented by the some of the Senior Managers of the MJF Group, Trustees, Directors, Deputy Chairman and by Mr. Merrill J. Fernando himself.
The hard work and efforts put in by the MJFCF Team and all the teachers and trainers of the 3 Centres during the past 2 – 3 weeks paved rich dividends as the programme was executed in a well co-ordinated and in very professional and colorful manner, which was highly acknowledged and appreciated by all those who were present at the occasion.
