The 2nd medical screening programme for the MJF Kids at Peliyagoda was held at the Kids home on Saturday 5/11. Nearly 100 Kids from the Maligawatte and Peliyagoda Centres were screened for their general health conditions, eye sight, dental cavities, height, weight and nutritional status.
A team of Doctors from the Hemas hospital in Wattala did the screening programme and also provided a medical record file for each child.
Some of the Kids expressing their gratitude to the Foundation and Hemas said that for most of them this was the 1st time that they had attended a medical clinic of this nature through which they were made aware of their medical deficiencies. Skin related problems and dental cavities were common amongst most kids which will need further medical attention. The Foundation will be addressing these needs in the near future.
