1st intake students of MJF – Curtis Graphics Design Training complete their course

12th November was a special day for the 1st batch of students of the MJF – Curtis Computer Graphics Training Institute.

 

 

 

 

14 of the 18 students who successfully completed their 6 months training course received their certificates from Dilhan at a simple ceremony held the MJF Vocational Training Centre on 12th November.

 

 

 

 

Kids from the MJF Kids programme at Moratuwa and also the Diri Daru Piyasa Kids added colour to the event with their dance performances.

Nilaksha Dias won the special award for obtaining the highest marks at the final evaluation. The award for the best overall performance from the 1st intake of students was won by Sugandhi Sewwandhi Karunaratne.

 

 

 

Speaking at the event, Dilhan emphasized the importance of “design” in our day to day lives as we all need to design our lives towards prosperity. Design is also a effective tool for communication and he stressed upon the students to make use of the opportunity they have had at the MJF Computer Graphics Training Institute to further their knowledge and put their know how to optimal use and fulfill their life’s ambitions. The event also yet again demonstrated the philosophy of Dilmah in doing “business as a matter of human service”.

The students who obtained their certificates paid profound tribute and gratitude to Settlor and Founder of MJFCF – Merrill J Fernando for having given them this opportunity and wished the Institute strength and resources  to provide more opportunities do deserving youth to follow the course in the future programmes. The 2nd batch of students were also formally introduced to the training programme.
